Artist Statement

Painting is my passion. I am fascinated by the beauty of freshly applied pigments. It's magical to let the most beautiful pigments wander across the canvas, resulting in vibrant colors. I love the challenge that painting offers, including drawing, and how it gives me a vehicle for expression.

Enjoying and exploring these distant worlds in my journey with paint, I encounter the most wonderful people and the strangest places. I strive to create a painting with uniqueness. Creating my art is a constant balancing act, where I seek maximum chaos without letting it take over. Minimal harmony and taking risks are symbols of freedom for me.

My signature style is surrealism meets romanticism, the creation of a dream world where symbolism is the very foundation of the painting. Each visual element adding to the narrative. While painting the story evolves, I don't rely on preliminary sketches.

It's not about painting the ideal image, it's about the process. Art should provoke, challenge the status quo and evoke discomfort. My inspiration stems from life experiences and issues that concern me.
